Mitch Goldstein- organ (Hammond B3 with twin Leslise cabs) Luis Marcias- drums and cymbals (his standard kit) Band arrangement- guitar left, drums center, organ right Recording setup- Two simultaneous recording setups. All mics run direct into DR-680 Mics placed ~2' in front of drumkit on snare side Assignment as follows: ORFT-ish 2ch pair on stand ~3' high: ch1- M Gefell M94 cardioid (Left) ch2- M Gefell M94 cardioid (Right) Supercardioid L/C/R triangle on floor, slightly closer to drumkit: ch3- ADK_TL in supercardioid pattern (Left) facing 45deg left at guitar amps ch4- ADK_TL in supercardioid pattern (Right) facing 45deg right at right leslie ch5- ADK_TL in supercardioid pattern (Center) facing 45deg up at snare mics in near-equilateral triange with ~18" between each Recorder settings: 5 mono 24bit/48kHz files. All DR-680 inputs set to mic input, low gain. Input gain adjusted during first take, then lowered once mid session to avoid clipping. Final gains on DR-680: ch1&2: -1 (ORTF pair) ch3&4: -2 (L/R TL pair) ch5: -6 (Center TL) Post editing: Digital mix-down to 2ch-stereo file using DR-680 interenal monitor mix > SPDIF > R-44 Stereo file imported from R-44 to Samplitude: EQ, parallel compression, level adjust, peak editing, track-trimming and splits, fades, conversion to 16bit/44.1kHz.
