LAUSCHER Dominique Täger Hamm What is LAUSCHER? People say we are storytellers and that you have to listen to us. Well, it's folk, traditional and modern at the same time. Hm, the two interesting voices are the one thing but the instruments make the sound and in the case of LAUSCHER the instruments are the very specialty. We don't know ... there is nothing like Waldzither and Musical Saw - or do you know anyone who plays that combination? We, Tine and Dominique, the Duo LAUSCHER are travelling through Europe playing in the streets as buskers, street musicians, or in livingroom concerts but also on festivals and in clubs. We live full time in a very old Mercedes bus (Düdo). Tine sings and plays the MUSICAL SAW, a very unique and interesting instrument with a strange and wonderful sound. Dominique is the main singer. He plays the WALDZITHER, a nine string instrument, originally built for the Wandervogelbewegung. The Waldzither has a astonishing orchestral sound and an interesting story. What we do is collecting songs and stories from the countries we visit and write own material influenced by our adventures - in a lyrical and intense way. And then we have a big collection of traditional German folk songs, most of them from the 19th century, the march revolution, but also a few children songs, all presented in our own special way. Concerts of LAUSCHER are calm in the way that you have to listen but they are also filled with talk and stories and sometimes we bring our percussion box for you to play along with us. It's not just music but all about music and culture and alternative living.
