Black Road to Noir - A Simple Victim of Circumstance by LarsLooperMan published on 2012/08/04 18:19:58 +0000 This little piano improv started so differently. Suddenly, my hands played two chords and there I was, transported to another dimension of time and space. Never actually having practiced or played noir style music, I found my fingers doing things that were strange but natural. I was thinking about someone close to me who was a victim of circumstance and it just flowed. This piece beckons for an era in film when either criminals or victims of circumstance in a dark underworld of black and white ruled the screen from the early 40's until the late 50's. Whether it was Barbara Stanwyck, Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, or Kirk Douglas it was all dark, full of smoke, and sexy. I tweaked the piece here and there and rushed to publish it here before I played with it too much. I hope you enjoy it. :-)) Perhaps there will be a follow on because I couldn't stop recording that day when music flowed like a gushing stream. Thankful that the midi recording was on and didn't crash.
