Marien Van Oers Compilation 1992 - 2012 by Kwark Frietveld

Marien Van Oers died on January 8 of 2013. During the years he was my friend, he gave me a lot of CDR's with music he recorded. So for his "death party" on January 12, i made a compilation CD in a serial of 180 pieces for the visitors of this party. That day was a beautiful one, many artists came to play on the open stage.
Marien believed in "copyright free music", he just wanted to share his music with whoever is interested and it can be used for new music, though this music should not be sold.
So this compilation is a chronologic choice from recordings starting in 1992 until now. Before this, he made music under the name of Het Zweet (in the 1980's) and swapped his music on cassettes with many people in the world. His cassettes were released on labels like Staaltape and Dossier (one LP) Also his music is present on a number of compilation cassettes/lp's at that time.
On this compilation are a lot of other musicians playing like: Nienke Jagersma, Winston Shoolbred, Giny Canjels, Lerant Van De Rakt, Peter, Peer (don't know their family names) and myself, Mark Rietveld.
I made this compilation out of dedication for the great person who Marien was, always making music, performances or art objects from materials he found on the street and in the forest.
