Traveling the unexplored colors and shades of sounds. Since 2004.
In 2004, Kundalini Project, a.k.a. Bruce Gil, an Italian-born music producer and film-maker, with Argentinian heritage, started his journey in psychedelic trance, developing his style and creating a blend of unique dark atmospheres with energetic grooves.
His first track "Screams of Nature" (Dark Records) was released in 2007, receiving support from DJs around the world including the founder of the goa trance scene Goa Gil.
In 2008, Kundalini Project released his first solo album "Ancient Ritual" and performed at various festivals in Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic and Italy.
He used this opportunity to present his vision and experience, sharing the stage with some of the best names in psytrance such as Cosmo, Kindzadza, Ocelot, Naked Tourist, Digicult and many more.
In 2011, he released "Escape from Babylon", remixing famous reggae tunes such as Police in Helicopter, Time So Hard and Jah Jah City, that were an instant success, going viral on Youtube.
Looking to expand his creative experiences and curiousities of the world, he released his 2nd album in 2012. Titled, "World Contamination", this album explored downtempo beats and world music, covering everything from Latin, Asian and Eastern European sounds, and whatever influenced him on his travels.
Once again showing his interest in the pursuit of blending new sounds combining and heavy-weight beats and synthesizers, in 2013 after traveling and playing in India, he released "Jaipur Train".
Re-locating to Australia in 2015, created a new spark for his passion in music, and in 2016 he appeared at Earthcore, one of Australia's oldest and largest outdoor festivals.
Finally after more than 3 years of silence Kundalini Project is back with new material. “Future Mantras”, an immersive journey, mixing traditional Indian instruments with modern beats and grooves. Featuring 4 tracks, the EP will bring you into a new space of consciousness, where atmospheres and beats will give you a new vision of world music.
Kundalini Project presents an earthy yet intoxicatingly spice-infused exotic world, taking you from the colour and intensity of Indian life to the serenity of a meditative temple sanctum. There's both intensity and fervency, and a layered lush beauty about his work, seamlessly blending Indian sitar melodies and mantra chanting with modern dub and world beats. Frenetic tabla and percussion makes for an, at times, grittier darker edge contrasting with uplifting heady sitar grooves.
To coincide with live dates for Kundalini Project's new EP “Future Mantras”, he is launching a new collaboration with Entwined Bellydance a.k.a. Laura Entwined.
After a random meeting, the pair were inspired to bring together Kundalini Project's psychelelic oriental-infused dubscapes with the modern art of tribal fusion, a new dance form inspired by middle eastern bellydance and other classical world dance styles. Their live musical, visual and dance performance collaboration will move from full on drum and bass and dub step to lushous Indian-infused dub vibes!
An intersection of dub world beats meets dubstep and deep bass music, the show can be enjoyed on many levels - from chill to stage to full-on dancefloor vibes.
Appears on: Discovalley Records, Dark Records, Nu Jazz Records, Rythm and Culture Recordings, Loodma Recordings, Lounge Masters.
