KristofVanGrysperre Kristof Van Grysperre Pasadena, CA Since 2015, Kristof Van Grysperre, a native of Belgium with roots in France, has served as artistic director and conductor for Angels Vocal Art founded in Pasadena, California. In this role, he plans and selects theaters and venues as well as activities for educational programs. He also meets with potential donors and programs the music appropriate for all levels of singing. In addition, Kristof Van Grysperre coordinated the 2018 Opera Intensive and Festival, involving a full production of Leonard Bernstein’s Candide at the state-of-the-art-theatre “A Noise Within.” From 2013 through 2018, Kristof Van Grysperre worked as resident conductor for Long Beach Opera, also in California. While there, he conducted several productions, including the Southern California premiere of “Frida”, and “The Consul” in 2017, which he also conducted at Chicago Opera Theater. One of the many noteworthy productions he conducted at Long Beach Opera is “Fallujah” which was broadcast live at KCET. The documentary around the creation of the opera won an Emmy Award. He also made his New York City Opera debut conducting the same opera. Passionate about fostering emerging talent, Kristof Van Grysperre has served as a judge for various vocal competitions and gave master classes in many schools and for the Classical Singer Convention. In addition to performing, he is an accomplished recording engineer.
