Krista Santilli
KRISTA ADAMS SANTILLI, hailed by the Baltimore Sun as “vocally spectacular and visually enchanting as Mabel” in The Pirates of Penzance, has performed for international diplomats, royalty, and Hollywood celebrities and has been seen on stages throughout the US and four continents, including Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, Sears Center Arena, Giants Stadium, the U. S. Military Base at Fort Hood, and a maximum-security prison in Wisconsin. (She was not an inmate.)
In New York, Krista was much praised for her portrayal of Louise de Rênal in Deloss Brown’s stage adaptation of Stendhal’s The Red and the Black at The Theatre at St. Clement’s. For Medicine Show Theatre, Krista played the very proper Lady Stuttfield in Wilde's A Woman of No Importance and followed up with the <ahem> much less proper Adele in Elinor Amlen's Hotel. For Capolavori Productions, Krista played the President’s Wife in Warren Adler’s political drama, Libido. For NYU’s Goldberg Dramatic Writing Department she performed many of Shakespeare’s leading ladies: Hermione in The Winter’s Tale, Isabella in Measure for Measure, the eponymous female half of Troilus and Cressida, Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing and Helena in All’s Well That Ends Well.
Internationally and regionally Krista has played an ingénue or two: besides Mabel for The Young Victorian Theatre Company (review quoted above), she was Gilda in Rigoletto for Cheju-do Opera in South Korea, Johanna in Sweeney Todd for The Annapolis Chorale, Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro for Opera Birmingham, Luisa in The Fantasticks for Live Arts Maryland, Poppea in Agrippina for The Opera Theatre and Music Festival of Lucca, Italy, Anne in A Little Night Music for Theatre Tuscaloosa, Monica in The Medium for Alabama’s Opera Theatre and Laurie in Oklahoma! for Alabama’s Gardendale Theatre and Teddy and Alice (Edith Roosevelt) with Seven Angels Theatre, Waterbury, CT.
Film and Television: for Diamante Films International, Italy, Krista played Italian opera star Ada Giacchetti, wife to Enrico Caruso, in Stefano Salvati’s The Singer. Krista was featured in Stephen Grimaldi’s film The Word.
Discography: Sacrae Notae is Krista’s solo album of classical sacred songs, and she is a featured soloist on the soundtrack for the documentary film Beyond These Walls. Krista maintains an active calendar of concert and cabaret appearances.
Krista is very grateful to her husband Stefano and their three children Luca, Isabella and Emanuel for their unconditional love and support. Find Krista on the web at: www.adams-santilli.com.
