I am an Associate of the London College of Music in Music Theatre. I have sung professionally with bands and duos and have had great success as an amateur actress for many years. I have been studying for a professional Acting Diploma for the past two years with a local professional Tutor, Vincent Gregory.
After performing mainly as a duo in East Anglia and Lincolnshire performing selections of songs from the 60's to the 90's I decided to begin voice training to extend my repertoire with Helen Ruddock, a well known Singing Teacher from Bury St Edmunds. So I perform Musical Theatre songs and a selection of classical songs, Operatic Arias, Light Opera, as well as modern songs.
I lived for many years in Thetford but moved to Brandon in 2011. I have performed as an Actress in Thetford and at the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds in a number of one act plays (comedy and drama), musicals and pantomimes. These include: The Baroness in The Sound of Music, Aunt Alicia in Gigi, Svetlana in Chess, Dr Probity in The Day of Reckoning, Horato in Hamlet (to name but a few); more recently the Old Woman in After Midnight before Dawn, the Mother in Just the Two of Us (Roz Moruzzi) and Kate in Easy Stages (Nick Warburton) (outdoor performances of the latter two). I played the part of Mattie, one of the Ugly Sisters in Cinderella with a local group earlier this year. I particularly enjoy comedy roles as I have a great sense of humour.
My musical theatre repertoire includes: Memory (Lloyd Webber), Don't Cry for me Argentina (Lloyd Webber), The Winner Takes it All (Abba), Thank you for the Music (Abba), Send in the Clowns (Sondheim), On my Own (Les Miserables), Think of Me (Phantom of the Opera), I know him so well (Chess), As long as he needs me (Lionel Bart).
Opera Repertoire includes: O Soave Fancuilla (La Boheme (Puccini), O Mio Babbino Caro (Puccini), Pace Pace (The Force of Destiny, Verdi),
Vissi D'Arte (Tosca), Song to the Moon (Rusalka), Nadir and Leila duet (Pearl Fisher Opera (Bizet) and O Namen Lose Freude (Beethoven).
Light Opera repertoire includes: Tis Done I am a bride (Gilbert and Sullivan), Some day my Heart will Awake (Novello), We'll Gather Lilacs (Novello), Romance (The Desert Song) and The Waltz Song (Tom Jones).
I performed with Suffolk Opera (Amateur local group) at The Spa Pavilion, Felixstowe in a number of Old Time Music Hall shows as one of the supporting acts alongside Professional Music Hall Artists between 1998 an 2002, and performed in similar shows (to include show time) at theatres in Bury St Edmunds, Hunstanton and Sheringham.
In the last few years I have performed in a series of variety Charity Concerts in village halls, theatres and churches with a local group to raise money for the St Nicholas Hospice, Help for Heroes and other charity causes. I recently performed in a variety show locally raising money for the Women's refuge in Bury St Edmunds and was very well received. I am now studying Lieder, Italian song and opera with a Professional voice coach in Norwich.
