During the first 5 years of operation nearly all music released by KP was issued as a free download or free cd as the label found its feet in the industry with a focus on learning the business side of music, building its networks and presenting live shows and events.
During the first half decade the official KP website (kokyprik.com) received over 3,000,000 hits and was archived by the National Film And Sound Archive Of Australia as a portal in to Aussie culture.
Along with the web the traditional media also showed much interest in the labels activities and artists with major TV, radio and print features appearing around the country on a regular basis.
By September 2012 the label was nearing its 6th year of operation and had built a solid industry reputation, an experienced team and a loyal fan base.
With that came the first full length commercial release and a schedule for many more in 2013 and beyond.
Alongside the music KP also dedicates some of its focus on representing for the roots of its community planning and executing various youth and human rights initiatives for prison inmates and disadvantaged local teens.
Behind the scenes KP has always been a tight knit community consisting of much more than just the artists and team members you see and hear.
There are dozens of hands on deck from friends, helpers and fans to investors, established industry players and organisations all helping the one time dream to further become a reality.
KP Records is not just an Australian record label.
