KOROLEKO MUSIC by KOROLEKO BAND published on 2019-11-19T20:34:22Z Koroleko play thrilling and original, modern Mandé music. Headed by the charismatic and talented multi-instrumentalist Moussa Dembele, a griot from Burkina Faso, the band is currently made up of six phenomenal musicians from Africa and Europe. Moussa performs on balafon, Kora, n'goni, percussion and vocals and is accompanied by a kit drummer, djembe, saxophone, guitar, and bass players. The London-based band have been enrapturing audiences for the past three years with their infectious rhythms and energetic performances. The band have performed regularly at venues across London such as Hootanany, Magic Garden, Balabam, Rich Mix, Fox & Firkin and performed at the Mayor of London’s Eid Festival 2019. As a soloist, Moussa played with the Pan African Orchestra in Ghana for a number of years. Since living in the UK he has performed at Greenbelt Festival, Shropshire Music Trust, the British Museum and played with bands such as Native Sun and more recently Isaac Birituro & The Rail Abandon.
