On her journey, she meets an awkward troll, some cheeky Tikis, and the formidable faerie queen Merlynda. When her father, an environmental scientist, is taken captive, she taps into her connection with the ancient forest in order to free him. Meanwhile, Malix, an androgynous tech-wiz, is creating havoc—when they meet and their connection is revealed, a battle of wills ensues, opening a portal that reveals the driving force of everyone's actions. It's a simple tale with complex subjects--magic at its most elemental, what it means to be human, and to be connected with others. Amidst the enchantment, the characters face their fears and ultimately move toward their common goal—to save Forest by eliminating borders and working together.
