With influences ranging from Etta James to Amy Winehouse and Nine Inch Nails. LA’s Kita Klane is charting her own independent course.
The sultry indie-soul singer's latest single “Salt” finds her mining new territory personally and as a writer/producer.
Kita: “I had to write “Salt” as a personal exorcism; in my process, in my life as a modern woman and as an artist, I needed a ritual to let go of some history, to be empowered and in the moment.”
“Salt” is the follow up single to 2016’s "Technicolor” which premiered on Zane Lowe’s show on Apple’s international radio station Beats 1 and was featured in a number of high profile TV placements including “Kingdom" and “Girlfriend’s Guide To Divorce”.
2017 also saw her release the original song “Momma Said” which was written for the movie "Austin Found”.
Klane’s breakthrough 2015 EP “Fingerprints”, garnered impressive reviews; the title cut was featured in national advertising campaigns for Hulu and Samsung.
The Nic Harcourt directed video for “Fingerprints” was playlisted on VH1 and on MTV Latin America and was the third in a series of richly styled Black & White Noir videos from her first two EP’s (Including “The Enemy” and “Running Circles”) which have totaled over 2.5million views on YouTube.
“Fingerprints” was featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday and has racked up over 1,000,000 streams.
