What inspires you to mix/make music? Ooof so many things inspire me haha, but I’d have to say that every time I attend a live event and experience an artist I really dig is what inspires me most. And I say experience because you use a lot more than just your eyes to make the claim that you’re going to “see a dj”. It’s a whole experience when there is proper sound, lighting, and a curated crowd. 2. How has 2020 changed your relationship to music? To tie this into the last question, my entire inspirational experience has been taken away. Like, new DJ mixes and live streams are now the events, and local livestream platforms like Community Bread have really stepped up to help fill that void. And sure, putting on Mike Servito’s latest mix or tuning into Aurora Halal’s live stream have been great ways to help keep the fire burning, but nothing can possibly replace the real thing.
