NYC based producer /DJ /Founder/Label director of @stranjjur nyc, a world-renowned boutique label and artist development project, which gained recognition in 2011 when the label released a series of chart topping vinyl and digital releases from artists such as H.O.S.H., Fabo, Sasse (Freestyle Man), Ataxia, Lula Circus, Nhan Solo, etc..... all the while also maintaining strict focus on introducing, managing, and or releasing music from then unheard of talents such as David Marston, HearThuG, Gab Rhome, Evans, Rami Deejay (now known for his work in Bedouin and Pattern Drama), Lovecraft, Jimmy Maheras, Art In Motion, Memo Insua, and so many more.
Stranjjur began in 2009 as an event series brainstormed by Kev, during a time when nyc was heavily focused on underground minimal techno, and rarely saw house music taking the ce ter stage. Stranjjur would prove naysayers wrong, in shirt order, solely booking international artists who had never previously been booked in NYC, oftentimes simultaneously making their U.S./ North American debuts. No techno, no minimal, no big names, and no budget other than he and then partner Billy Disciples meager paychecks.
Stranjjur NYC and it's occasional partnering groupa such as SOUP and Bespoke was the first promotional outfit in NYC to host then virtually unknown artists, such as Carlo Lio, Till von Sein, MANIK, Alex Niggemann, Milton Jackson, Superlounge, el_txef_a, Spencer Parker, Luna City Express, Gab Rhome, Florian Kruse, Nils Nuernberg, Bearweasel, and also hosted artists such as Pezzner, Kev Yost, Audio Soul Project, brothers vibe, Brendon moeller and more.
Eventually it became clear that the vision and concept was better suited for a worldwide audience, which birthed the record label in 2011, with its first EP by Lula Circus incl remixes from Pezzner and MANIK getting worldwide attention and radio play, and topping the vinyl charts on decks.de before selling out in days. The label was ran in unison with longtime collaborative partner and friend, Chris Luzz.
The rest is history, including Stranjjur itself, which was put on hold when Kev took a personal sabattical from the industry in 2014... to be continued, as they say.
He's since slowly making his return in 2016, so keep an eye and ear on his next ventures!
(label is currently inactive until further notice. Please no demos)
