Kerry Pastine Kerry Pastine Denver Kerry Pastine has always gravitated toward an original sound steeped in tradition, but with a modern edge. When it comes to musical projects, she insists on a hint of danger, good times and a damn good dance party. Simplicity rules, but needs to be backed up with taste and musical chops. Until now, she has always hesitated with putting her name on the marquee. But the time is now. It's time to introduce Kerry Pastine and the Crime Scene. Once again she has paired up with longtime partner in crime (and in life), Paul Shellooe (both formerly of The Informants). Together in their downtown Denver apartment they woodshedded for over a year, writing new original material and capturing the sound that they both heard in their heads, but had yet to capture on stage. They also brought in longtime bandmate Mark Richardson to contribute original songs. Mark had already written most of what was to become the 3rd Informants CD, so he came to the party with a head full of new songs, sounds and ideas. Even though Mark has stepped out of the live music scene for the time being, his songs will remain alive through Kerry Pastine and the Crime Scene. After taking the time to carefully record demos of the new material, both Kerry and Paul started getting the live performance itch in a big way and they started to look for a rhythm section. As fate would have it, another music scene power couple was looking for an original music project -- the powerhouse rhythm section of Graham Marshall Mueller on drums and Joaquina Lluma on bass (both formerly with Fire in the Asylum). The 4 got together for dinner one night and were blasting out original music in a rehearsal space just 3 days later. The bond was formed. The gang was set. The Crime Scene is now a band ready for action. The sound is at once familiar, but modern; vintage, but cutting edge. Even the new songs started straying away from the original demos and took on a new life of their own. Songs from Kerry's past bands were brought back and given a new lease on life through the original spirit of the Crime Scene. Graham and Roqui bring new influences to the table and Kerry and Paul are letting the music move organically with the personalities and totally enjoying the ride. But this ride ain't a vintage Cadillac. This is a souped-up hot rod with bulletproof glass, a modern chassis and a shiny new engine. The perfect vehicle for a life of crime and musical performances born of sin. The band has already started to record together and will be releasing new music directly to fans as it finished. Kerry Pastine and the Crime Scene has both the sound and visuals of the best crime thrillers on film and video shoots are scheduled. Expect the unexpected. Expect to be involved. Live performances will start in November 2013 and continue throughout 2014. We want you to be "criminals" at every crime scene. Live shows will be interactive and include you, the fans because you are the reason that the music exists. You are the reason that this band has come together. The Crime Scene is about to begin. Join us. Be a Criminal. It feels good to be bad...
