Irish born and raised, Kerrie Anderson made a move to the UK in 2010, settling in Manchester. She soon joined Eastern Bloc Records, initially as an intern in 2013, and subsequently as a full time member of staff behind the counter selling records. Since then she has moved into the role of events coordinator at the newly established events space. The time spent at Eastern Bloc proved invaluable, furthering her knowledge, developing her taste, perfecting her skills as a DJ, and it has also provided her with a benchmark in terms of quality for making and releasing music. Honing her skills through her DJ residency at Ebloc, Kerrie individually as a DJ has gone on to play alongside an array of acts such as DJ Richard, Delta Funktionen, Ben Klock, Neil Landstrumm, DJ QU, Umfang, Volvox, Juan Atkins, DJ Nobu & many others over the past few years and is regularly booked act for some of the UK & Ireland’s most prestigious underground club nights. Her DJ style is bolshy and unforgiving, taking in everything from alien acid to hypnotic techno to meditative drone, and her record collection expands a lot wider especially on longer sets, where you can expect anything from ambient, dub, ebm to various house styles almost always with a tough edge.
After a few years of producing 'in the box', feeling a little uninspired with the process, a change in production methods lead her to adopt a hardware only setup, inspired in part by the sound and production of some of her favourite artists and bearing witness to some of her favourite live sets. This went on to define the music she now makes and performs live. Her output as a producer has been described as organic, raw techno with a nod to the past, dark and menacing with a distinct analog sound. 2017 was an exceptional year for Kerrie taking the leap to release her first track on 'I Love Acid' label as part of their 10 year anniversary compilation alongside a line up of heavyweights including John Heckle, Mike Dunn and Luke Vibert. Kerrie also took her analog hardware live set up on the road in 2017 and already has had some high profile live gigs under her belt; supporting Objekt, headlining On Rotation in Leeds as well as performing live on Radar Radio & on Leah (Floyeurs) with Sound on timeline music. Kerrie is preparing a new live set for forthcoming events including an AVA festival X WHP event where she will perform her live set to the biggest crowd to date. With her forthcoming debut EP due to be released on Don't Be Afraid Recordings in early 2019 you can expect to hear a lot more from this rising talent.
