Kate Pass Kohesia Ensemble Kate Pass Perth Kohesia Ensemble represents the new project of double bassist and composer Kate Pass. Kate has performed both locally and internationally in a variety of ensembles including performances at WOMADelaide, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Provincetown Playhouse in New York and Singapore Jazz Festival. This unique ensemble serves as a platform for Kate’s original compositions influenced by her passion for both jazz and Persian music. Kate uses her study of the setar and aspects of the Persian Dastgah system in combination with her jazz background as inspiration for her compositions. Recently nominated for a Music Award at Fringe World Festival and two WAM Song of the Year Awards, the ensemble is currently working towards completing their debut album, “Kohesia,” which will be available in 2017.
