Kate Doherty has been claiming Sydney underground dance floors for over a decade. Doherty’s sets are notorious for their sophisticated flair and accuracy; imbuing techno, house, and electro with funk and hip-hop sensibilities. Her energetic sets are founded in hours industriously preparing for nuanced and surprising sets, never far from the massive sounds of blackened-techno and industrial influences.

Doherty is qualified in her place as one of three House of Mince residents having previously been a resident with the inimitable 4our, a warehouse party collaboration between Sydney DJs Trinity and Magda Bytnerowicz. Her playing catalogue includes having played alongside dancefloor heavyweights: Alienata; Tolouse Low Trax; Headless Horseman; Volte-Face; Xhin; DJ Sprinkles; K-Hand; Peter Van Hoesen; Luke Slater; Eric Cloutier; Randomer; Paula Temple; Delano Smith and many more, along with contributions to Sydney parties Nighttime Drama, Control, Loose Ends, Darkroom, IF? Records, Subsonic festival and the 40th Mardi Gras after party.
