Resolution #9 by kat330 published on 2013/03/30 11:01:13 +0000 3.30.2013 (30.3.2013) [The Power of Threes] I kantele deny it: This opus is a pure paean to springtime, which is arriving to us so very late this year though sweet birdsong remains through the winter here. Its inception was some experimental tuning of my Finnish harp. Interest in the instrument was piqued again after finally locating a proper tuning tool to replace inadequate pliers. Then it slowly evolved into a dreamy forest meditation once my Juha Tapio (JT) provided me with some seven-syllable Finnish phrases to fit the cascading and upward runs on the strings. This effort also marks my first creation to reach well beyond the typical two- to three-minute mark, clocking in at exactly nine minutes. [Although I do plan to post an edited, four-minute version in the near future.] I've set down in verse the audio journey I hope you might visualize as you sit for a spell to listen. So if you will, put on your headphones, enter my enchanted forest and wrap your arms around a venerable old tree. The Power of Threes }}} }}} }}} Please, come into the Finnish forest and see A river runs through it—float down it with me, Wade through the waterfall, laze in the lea. Next nestle beneath the birch canopies Lulled by the locust and humming of bees. Nod off to birdsong and whispering breeze. Dream with the dryads of triads and trees. Now gently awaken—three plucks, if you please— Refreshed and replenished, the Power of Threes.
