KanuaK Paulo Ventura Music City "Nashville" The project KanuaK came to be when I was in college back in 2005. I was already producing Psy-Trance for two years but under my nickname Kiko. My interest in Mayan culture brought my attention to their calendar called Tzolkin, which contains 260 signs. Each sign, composed of the combination of a seal and a tone, respectively represented by a box with a glyph, and a number from 1 to 13 spelled on top of the box in Mayan calligraphy. As soon as I found my sign, I was immediately taken by its meaning and how it beautifully resonate with my essence. My sign is Rhythmic Seed, which in Mayan is Kan Uak. I integrated the previous 5 Psy-Trance albums I made, including Trance Formation, (which is officially my first album with my alias AlieNatiV, but that's another story)to the project, and until 2011 when I produced KanuaK's most recent album, IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP!. KanuaK is the sonic expression of my growth and commitment to my roots, it's psychedelic music influenced by magical moments of learning and spiritual clarity. Greatly influenced by Infected Mushroom, Astrix, Visual Contact, Ine Goa, Raja Ram, GMS, and many other Full On and Progressive Psy-Trance artists that rocked the dancefloors in Brazil back in THE days.
