Kalandra Kalandra Oslo 🌲 ʀᴀᴡ, ᴇᴇʀɪᴇ ᴍᴜsɪᴄᴀʟ ʟᴀɴᴅsᴄᴀᴘᴇs 🌲 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐔𝐒 Kalandra is an alternative Nordic band spearheaded by four Norwegian/Swedish musicians (Jogeir Daae Mæland, Katrine Stenbekk, Florian Döderlein Winter and Oskar Johnsen Rydh) weaving ethereal melodies into raw and eerie musical landscapes. Kalandra has previously supported other Nordic acts such as Gåte, Seigmen, Wardruna and Eivør. Their cover of ‘Helvegen’ by Wardruna, has amassed over four million views on YouTube, which also led them to sign with the record label By Norse Music. They also composed two soundtracks for the HBO Nordic series ‘Beforeigners’ (season 1) and even stumbled on to the set for episode 5 and 6 as extras. After «balancing rocks» as band members for over a decade already, 2020 was the year from which one could finally enjoy the fruits of their labor with the release of their debut album ‘The Line’. The Pandemic put a slight halt on their concert situation, however the band performed some concerts around Norway for a seated audience as well as quietly working away in their studio, and the result is out for all to enjoy. Kalandra are excited to present their newest album release “Kingdom Two Crowns: Norse Lands Soundtrack (Extended)”, from the official video game “Kingdom Two Crowns: Norse Lands” for which the band composed the entire score. The band has collaborated with local Norwegian folk musicians John Stenersen and Kenneth Lien, using old instruments like hurdy-gurdy, goathorn, dvoyanka, nyckelharpa and moraharpa. Simply put, this is an album to get lost in and love with all your heart. Wether you are playing Kingdom Two Crowns: Norse Lands or adventuring in your imagination. Enchanting and captivating in equal measure, Kalandra have shown that they’re not only brilliant songwriters but masterful composers as well. - Tom Fordham, distoredsoundmag.com Kalandra is scheduled to join Wardruna and Lindi-Fay Hella & Dei Farne on a Europe tour summer 2022.
