Looking forward to any new material or podcast. Going to start spending a little more time on Sound Cloud. Can I ask you a favor? I'm easing back into recording by doing some covers. Would you mind if I take a stab at this song? I've always wanted to do my own rendition of it. Not to sell or anything, just for me. But I'd like to perhaps post it here when finished. Just to keep it...somewhere. Also, not to overstay my welcome, but would you be willing to send me a digital file of this acoustic version? Again, just for my own pleasure. If not, cool, but I figure you might have a copy of it, trimmed from this podcast. Hope to hear from ya! :) 2020-11-02T21:04:17Z Comment by jvamusic @christian-liljequist: Boy, Christian...I like you already! :) Thank you so much for such a cool note. You just made my month. Very kind. I'm working on a new podcast at the moment, and also working on new music (always). I hope you are well and swell. And thanks again! 2020-10-06T19:58:31Z Comment by lilviking3 This song has meant so much to me since I was 9. I'm 42 now, and that fact has not changed. Thank you for a timeless piece of perfection. Oh, and this rendition is absolutely wonderful. Like seeing an old friend after a VERY long time... :) 2020-10-06T18:48:36Z Comment by jvamusic @piero-berbert: I love that you love this song!! Thanks, Piero! 2020-01-15T21:39:49Z Comment by Piero Berbert I love this song 2020-01-09T14:21:11Z Comment by tstrahle Great hearing this story. I remember when this was happening. I was a little jealous, but only because I thought it was so cool and well deserved. 2016-08-20T02:59:53Z Comment by Greg St Pierre This aspiring filmmaker enjoyed the hell out of that story. Great story about an integral component of a vastly, VASTLY underrated film. Thank you Mr. Walker. 2015-08-21T19:29:41Z Comment by Sarah Dylan Breuer I saw the movie just because you and Phil were in it, and I forced my friends to stay for the credits to hear your song. Life circumstances meant I couldn't put out music in my own name after a while, but for ages I did and sold all of my recording by recording on cassette one track at a time on a Walkman, and then playing that recording on a boombox while the same Walkman recorded the next version. This required much retuning, since the speeds of the cassette player/recorders didn't match. And yet, some of my favorite recordings of my work (including my cover of "Swan Swan H" with harmonies in the style of John Doe and Exene Cervenka) came just that way -- no producers, little technology, and only one take to get it right. 2015-04-13T23:42:17Z
