Juston Suarez has a recognized and extensive musical career that dates to his childhood in La Havana, Cuba, where he studied percussion, he learnt to play the Rumba and sing to the rhythm of Son. These musical influences along with Afro-Cuban music, Salsa and Latin Jazz will accompany him throughout his career, thus forging his own musical identity.
For more than 30 years on the professional scene, Juston Suarez is an important part of projects occupying various roles; standing out as a drummer, percussionist, singer, songwriter, music producer and director of the Juston Music discography.
Juston Suarez participates in the record-making of discs, offered concerts for German television, simultaneously alternating his schedule with concerts and international tours, playing at major festivals in Europe and Asia. We can highlight his presentations at the Corona Latino Festival in Singapore, concerts at the National Gallery of Germany in Berlin, at Garden Ermitage in Moscow with Buena Vista Social Club, Festival and Cubadisco awards in Havana (Cuba) with Egrem, together to great Cuban jazz performers and at the presentation of the Goldene Henne Awards in Germany, in Friedrichstadt-Palast (Berlin).
The great pianist Chucho Valdes participates and the “Extravaganza” groups, , collaborated in concerts and recordings with renowned artists such as: Caridad Hierrezuelo (La Diva de Cuba), Christopher Lee (Hollywood Legend), Tony Martinez and Cuban Power, Lou Bega, with rhythmic section by Carlos Santana,“Septeto Chanchullo” and Cubanisimo, among others. He has shared stages with greats like Gipsy Kings, Vieja Trova Santiaguera and Eliades Ochoa, Buena Vista Social Club, and with others from the European scene.
Between his works the songs stand out; “Copia la Talla” (2011) “Alma Pura” (2018) both distinguished in the International Songwriting Competition in Nashville (USA), becoming semifinalists in the Latin Song category.
The albums, Ritmos y Colores (2013) and Romántico del Son (2020) are the pure sample of his artistic wealth, which also includes the edition of singles and the production of video clips. In these solo projects Juston dabbles in various musical genres such as Urban Music, Salsa, Son, Rumba and Timba.
Currently, the album “Romántico del Son” is presented; a true commitment to the traditional Cuban musical. In this project, Juston is accompanied by “Son All Star”, a respected selection of Cuban musicians, among whom are the great tres player Juan de la Cruz Antomarchi Padilla “Coto”, bassist Ernesto Reyes “Palma”, Alexis Cardenas Escobar, former tresero Guayabero and the outstanding violinist Hugo Cruz Orbo.
Talking about Juston Suarez is synonymous with rhythms and melodies that transport us to a sound journey in which the magic and aesthetics of Cuba shine.
