Starship Story by Juno Morse published on 2012-09-10T20:29:52Z "Starship Story", Juno Morse's first album, is both a homage to the Science-fiction scores of the last decade and a fusion of symphonic and electronic instruments, creating contemporary soundscapes. The main theme of the opening scene with fanfares reappears every now and then and is the leading theme of the album. Although all songs are 'standalone' compositions, they are not parted by breaks in order to create a single whole story, that tells us all about the voyage of our starship. Between the episodes the starship travels through the universe. These parts are called interspace one to five; they serve as connecting elements for all episodes, where JM uses electronic textures without melody. The fanfare opens the voyage of the starship, followed by its preparation and launch into space. Breaking through the atmosphere it reaches the orbit, where it hovers over our blue planet. But soon after the peaceful zero gravity the starship flies into a field of asteroids and collides with a boulder which renders the ship disabled to maneuver. Now it has to be repaired by its crew in clumsy protective gear. Then the board computer G.A.U.S.S. is overloaded and causes a short-circuit. In complete darkness the crew observes the beauty of a supernova. Fully operational again the starship returns back to earth where it is greeted by a huge audience. Enjoy!
