Born in Seoul, South Korea, Jumi, was formed as a classical pianist from an early age. When she was 14, she moved to South America with her family and she spent her teens in Lima, Perú. Making her debut as a Dj, at 19. From that moment on, the phenomenon known as, “Jumilee”, as her countless fans call her, has grown considerably over the years. She is admired and respected by her captivating talent, sophisticated musical taste and impeccable DJ skills.
Influenced by artists such as Emmanuel (IT), Slam, Dax J, Thomas P. Heckmann, Kobosil, Ben Klock, Paula Temple, to name a few, her style is described as a powerful energetic pumping techno with hypnotic melodies and driving grooves. It's clear that she knows how to use all the versatility and flexibility that techno offers her. With a unique ability to read and move the crowd, she always manages to transmit feelings and emotions when she plays. "That's the true beauty of music, it connects people", she says. For her, it’s essential to always strive to be original, to never settle and always push forward to give her best to her fans.
In the last years, Jumi has played consistently in the most recognized venues and parties in Lima and many other cities of Perú, as well as for bigger crowds in numerous occasions in festivals such as: Creamfields Perú, Far Away Festival and Intifest. She has also played in cities such as Montevideo, Mexico DF, Santiago, Quito, Guayaquil, Santa Cruz and La Paz.
Jumi was in charge of opening and closing for International DJs such as Richie Hawtin, Marcel Dettmann, Slam, Amelie Lens, Popof, Ilario Alicante, Paco Osuna, Monoloc, Marc Houle, among others.
In 2007, she released her first EP called "Bass Machine", under the label Eletrodomesticos(BR), which received great support from DJ/Producers like John Acquaviva and Kosmas Epsilon. The remix was also included in the compilation CD "Best Female DJs of the World". Jumi is also a brand ambassador and is booked to play at numerous parties for prestigious brands such as: Chanel, MAC, Salvatore Ferragamo, Dior, Vogue Magazine, Audi, Jaguar, Nike and Tommy Hilfiger. At the moment she is concentrating on working on her own productions and releasing them internationally.
