Julius Sylvest Copenhagen Bio: Julius Sylvest is a DJ, producer and drummer who has a global perspective and an interest and curiosity for musical collaboration and experimentation. His professional career began as a drummer in Tivoli Garden (Copenhagen), and the discipline he has over his sticks can be heard in his free-sounding, yet highly controlled playing. When Julius Sylvest performs, tropical bass is mixed with many other styles and genres, and famous hits - with his own twist. The only thing you can count on is that there will be music best played loudly and no feet standing still. On stage Julius Sylvest emerges in his LED-jacket. Lighting up as he flexes his fingers on drums and pads, and simultaneously doing his DJ tricks. Like a dayglo waterfall, there’s no stopping Julius Sylvest’s deluge of lasers, triplet drum patterns and handsintheair breakdowns. Julius Sylvest had participated in the Red Bull Music Academy, supported for Major Lazer, and remixed for Bomba Estéreo and Blondie. Julius Sylvest has played all over the map - from Russia to Rio and home in Denmark at the Musik I Lejet. In addition to his own projects, Julius Sylvest has among other things also participated at the Red Bull Music Academy, supported for Major Lazer and Diplo, and has cooperated with young forces such as Aloe Blacc, Buraka Som Sistema, ELOQ & Dixone(Copenhagen), Canblaster (Paris), Gareth Jones, Schlachthofbronx, Alo Wala and the Indian producer Nucleya. He has also remixed for recognized names such as Bomba Estéreo. Julius Sylvest has played all over the map - from Russia to Rio and home in Denmark at the Roskilde Festival. In recent years he has been sharpening his musical skills through many different projects, along with pushing the boundaries of Tropical Bass styles with a stint; writing, producing, recording and touring. Already during high school Julius Sylvest spent a lot of his time creating music with his friends Lortehænderne who crashed the underground parties and clubs. He later holed up in the Yo Fok house, a collectively run studio complex and creative hotbed of the Copenhagen scene.
