Barnyard Bites - Ep1 Billy Bovine by AlienHerbivore

Barnyard Bites is a podcast based around a poem I wrote called, “Are You My Mommy?” about a veal calf’s journey from birth to slaughter. Barnyard Bites expands on that poem and tells the rest of the calf’s story as he escapes the truck and finds a new life.
There have been many real-life incidents where animals evade death and go to farm sanctuaries, but this particular tale is loosely based on a true story from 2018 where veal calves fell off a truck across multiple states, and only four survived. Among the survivors was one female, born sterile as part of an opposite sex pair of twins.
I created, performed, and edited the entire piece completely on my own—script, characters, voices, sound effects, song, sponsor—everything. My hope is to raise awareness for what these creatures go through, and hopefully create some interest in avoiding animal products for their sake.
