AND IN THE DISTANCE, THE SEA SILVER MEDAL in “GLOBAL MUSIC AWARDS” in San Diego, California (CA-EUA) in the «Composition» category (January, 2022). Work for piano solo, piece inspired by the exhibition "El color del temps. Variacions" by the laureate painter Josep Esteve Adam, (Algemesí, 1946. Valencia_España_UE). The composition tries to evoke in a subjective way the sensations experienced when observing this exhibition, sample of landscapes of the marsh, the cultivation of rice and the Albufera (lake near the sea), as an evolutionary idea of the climatic seasons and the passage of time, in addition it also connects in a way of arts in parallel with the style and the way of working of the painter, and not to describe each picture musically. The result is a "formalist" composition with an evident mixture of styles, although neoclassical predominates, it is also at times romantic, impressionist and polymodal, with a duration of 13'. It was premiered on September 12, 2021 in the auditorium of the Botanical Garden of the city of Valencia (Spain_UE), performed by pianist Amparo Pous (version that you can listen to in this audio file).
