Towdah by jppo published on 2018-03-10T13:46:33Z Towdah is a Hebrew word with multiple meanings. The most usual meaning can be translated as a “thanksgiving hymn” or “thanksgiving sacrifice”. Other possible meaning is “confession”. This work belongs to a group of three works (Timshel, Hokmah, Towdah). Timshel relates to our possibility of choosing between good and evil. Hokmah relates with the wisdom needed to make the right choice. Towdah relates with the thanksgiving prayer for the correct choices made, and the regret and confession for the wrong choices. This work was commissioned by the Contemporary Music Group of Lisbon. Electronic part was done at the composer’s studio. It received the prize for best work at ICMC 2010 and at SMC 2018.
