For centuries, many generations of people identify a peregrination with a voyage through distant places, in search of some mystic or marvelous goal. However, that trip in space is not the essential one. To be a pilgrim is not so much to leave for a distant land, but to learn to find oneself and to discover the deep meaning of one’s existence. In this piece, through sound, what we propose metaphoricaly is a continuous search for the path of enlightenment, what is demanded is an answer to the mistery of things and the revelation of our role in the universe.
Peregrinação was commissioned by Matosinhos City Hall and received the first prize at Alea III Composition Competition.
