jorge da rocha Jorge da Rocha Barcelona Jorge da Rocha is a Portuguese musician living in Spain. After playing with many groups from the Barcelona music scene, Da Rocha starts is solo project recording two albums: These are a few of my favorite songs (playing cover songs from Radiohead, Massive Attack, Björk among others) and To drop and let go, with his own compositions. Both albums were recorded only with two instruments: double bass and voice. And what a wealth of possibilities the combination of double bass, loop station and celestial vocals produces! Jorge’s one-man-cosmos creates magical moments and seduces the listener in the discovery of new soundscapes and songs that show the artist's own universe, his feelings and emotions, his experiences and the dedication to permanent personal and artistic search. A search that aims for finding new ways to arrive at the same destination: the heart and soul of the listener. Jorge is in a continuous process of developing his passionate expressiveness with the double bass, voice and words, breaking the borders of its jazz career and incorporating it into its passion for modern and alternative music, for world music, electronic music and songwriting.
