Jonny Blaze(3rd Eye/BIG:RED:BUS/Contact High) is Luke from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
He plays a unique blend of night time psychedelic trance that sits at 142-145 bpm with heavy minimal baselines, tight punchy percussion and head popping psychedelic melodies and hooks. Luke understands how to read crowds, vibe and dance-floors making it a necessity to craft his sets live.
Starting out playing progressive trance Luke was exposed to the very healthy psychedelic scene in Melbourne and instantly fell in love. Playing anywhere from 12 am until Dawn, Luke is a firm believer of a healthy, engaging dance-floor.
"I guess it is from my early days as a mobile DJ" Luke says "If you didn't have people dancing, it would be a VERY long night, not to mention angry drunk party goers and the manager mysteriously vanishing with your pay!!!"
Luke began djing in 1996 and was trained by the highly esteemed and legendary DJ Kei. Did the club, pub and mobile rounds for 10 years but promptly quit after attending Earthcore and having a life changing psychedelic musical experience.
Luke has recently been playing a few Glitch/Trap & Drum and Bass sets which has helped develop his versatility. Heavily Hip-Hop orientated due to his upbringing he welcomes the challenge of an obscure DJ set time playing a variety of music.
Currently working on a début EP for 3rd Eye Productions which will be released during their Spring Equinox party on the 20th September in NNSW, Australia.
