JonathanPreiss Jonathan Preiss London Jonathan Preiss trained in classical and jazz guitar at Leeds College of Music, and in classical guitar and composition at Trinity College of Music, London. As copyist and arranger Jonathan has worked on a number of major projects for recording, publication and live performance. Publication work has included transcribing, arranging and typesetting for songbooks such as Sting's "Songs from the Labyrinth" (Wise Music/Music Sales) and specialist guitar arranging and typesetting projects such as Short Classical Guitar Pieces (Camden Music for Chester Music). Jonathan's experience in music preparation, copying, arranging and orchestrating for live performance includes work for major artists including the British Philharmonic Orchestra, Michael Ball, Aled Jones and Katie Melua, and for events including the BBC Proms and Hampton Court Festival. Also a tremendously versatile guitarist and composer, he is equally at home performing music from the classical guitar repertoire, playing Brazilian music, jazz, avant-garde chamber music, musical theatre or baroque concertos. As a performer his live credits include London Philharmonic Orchestra [Lord of the Rings Symphony, Royal Albert Hall 2004], Warehouse Ensemble [Boulez in Birmingham 2008] and Zorro the Musical [Garrick Theatre, London 2008]. Broadcast credits include BBC Radio 2's "Friday Night Is Music Night". Recording credits include Aled Jones' The Christmas Album, a duo album with BBC Young Tradition award winner Luke Daniels and two albums with Brazilian group Caratinga.
