The Dirty South
Seriously.....why bother being on SoundCloud? No point to post mixes on here so they get taken down. Go to my mixcloud page and you can hear EVERYTHING I've ever posted here... https://www.mixcloud.com/djjondenver/
If you have been fortunate enough to hear Jon Keating DJ live, you know what to expect: a unique style and sound filled with energy that always leaves the crowd wanting more. If not, you’re missing out on one of the most talented DJs you have yet to hear. Simply put he’s a DJ’s DJ.
For close to 20 years Jon has brought his distinct sound up and down the east coast from New York City to Miami and everywhere in between. From his early years as an up and coming talent in the Gainesville and Orlando scene to nearly a decade of consistently well-received shows in Atlanta, Jon has solidified himself as one of the top DJs in the southeast.
Working his way up from house parties and the bottom slots of large shows, Jon’s dedication and desire to exceed and improve eventually earned him prime DJ time slots and headlining gigs at major clubs & shows including: Fusion, Technobabble 1-3, Usuaya ’97, and ERA Fest to name a few. Initially, Jon’s goal as a DJ was simply to have the opportunity to play one time at Simon’s (a world renown club in Florida known for bringing over top European DJs like Sasha, John Digweed, and Paul Van Dyk to America for the first time). That goal not only become a reality, but was exceeded by being given a monthly night along with DJ partner Rob Dowell in 2002.
In 2003 Jon was brought up to Atlanta by Rob, who recently relocated to the peach state, to guest DJ one of the original Warm Art nights at Club Illusions. That weekend was significant as not only being the catalyst for Jon’s love of the city of Atlanta, but he was then introduced to Atlanta local DJ legend, Nasir (the one who left Dave Seaman speechless after an epic opening set). Within a year, Jon was calling Atlanta (and Nasir’s infamous basement club) home.
For the next eight plus year, Jon would prove to Atlanta and the rest of the south that he was not to be missed! Jon was a regular in the Atlanta circuit playing numerous clubs like: The Mark Ultralounge, Lava Lounge, MidCity Café, Eleven50, Fever, Music Room, Hush, the Wired Festival in Athens, and the closing party of Crescent Room. His annual Atlanta show collaborations with Phil K (Australia) and ATL’s Habersham always had show of the year potential. Jon’s popularity in Atlanta would also lead to numerous Charlotte gigs, guest mixes on Georgia Tech’s WREK 91.5, and even changing things up a bit as a resident DJ at Loca Luna playing latin house and reggaeton.
The rest of Jon’s DJ resume is 2nd to none including past residencies at Simon’s (Gainesville), Aftermath (Tampa/Clearwater), AKA Lounge (Aqua Luna, Red Door – Orlando), Full Circle & The Down Lo (Gainesville), & Fever (Atlanta) and having played alongside top international DJs and acts including: Nick Warren, Phil K, Kazell, DJ Dan, Terry Mullan, Medway, Micro, Simply Jeff, George Acosta, Jimmy Van M, Uberzone, The Light, Deepsky, Cosmic Baby, and Keoki to name a few. Now relocated back in Florida in the Tampa Bay area, Jon has opened more eyes and ears with his recent debut at Hyde Park Cafe, the premier house music club in Tampa.
