Suman Kanuganti Explains Algorithms, The Influence Of AI In Web3 & The Future Of AI In The Metaverse by NEWFORUM

It was an honor to have Suman Kanuganti on this AI and Algorithm-centered episode of NewForm. Suman is the Founder & CEO of personal.ai - a consumer AI (in Web3) startup building technology to keep your memories safe with a personal AI to recall. Formerly, Luther.ai, the company has been operating for a year, building an AI extension of human memory to enable individuals to create their personal AI to expand the potential of their memory to forget less and recall more.He is also the Founder of Aira, an AR for the Blind, and recognized as Time Magazine Best Invention & Fast Company World Changing Ideas.

We enjoyed the stimulating conversation about the influence of AI in Web3 and the future of AI in the Metaverse.

"AI is nothing but code, it's a model, and every model requires a certain amount of data, so generally, the applications of AI today are more dominant in places where there are lots of data because you aggregate a huge amount of data to get utility out of it.." -  Suman

Suman explained peronal.ai model is extracting utility from the individual experiences- so it doesn't matter if you are creating Twitter content somewhere. They capture all of it- take all the unstructured data and build a structured memory wall which they call a memory stack. Suman shared that if you think about it, every experience we have today- you have multiple different platforms, a structure that into the memory model that you own, it is private to you, and guaranteed ownership using Blockchain.

"When you talk about AI-generated content the majority of the content generation that exists today is based on the models, learning from the general knowledge or internet knowledge or Wikipedia knowledge; everything that is available in public. It doesn't have an identity, you are generating the content based on an aggregation of all this data, but it doesn't have personality and authenticity of you as an individual.." -  Suman

Suman believes that all those models were great, and they worked great in the marketing use cases for creation. In an example Suma made, he explained that if you are, for instance, to tell a story from all your experiences from yesterday and you want your AI-generated content. That AI can not understand the perspective of your story created yesterday.

He explained personal.ai's approach to bridging this gap. He also talked about what happens when you create an AI content with an NFT AI-generated collection- whether or not you own the IP ( Intellectual property).

This episode was AI, Algorithm focused. Suman also talked about the use of Blockchain technology and how it has enabled Decentralized owners and redefined what accessibility and ownership mean to the average creator. He shared the gateways to ownership opened through Web3 and Decentralization and the essential benefits and innovation coming from Decentralized. Finally, Suman talked about the Ownership Economy we are building with Web3 and its significant global impact on social mobility.
