First of all I love Christ Jesus more than anything in this world, then my 5 children, then Music. I am a very humble person that fears God, but I am forgiven of all my past mistakes because of the blood of Christ Jesus.
In 1989 I was involved in a very serious motorcycle accident that, in short, was the "wake up call" that I so desperately needed. I was living my life for all the wrong reasons. I was using drugs, drinking, living for the next party, and always in trouble. Being raised in a very dedicated Christian home all my life, I was in my teenage rebellion years, and just wanted to "live my life" the way I wanted to live it, and did everything I could to make my parents cringe...up until that almost very tragic night.
Since then, I have sung at church's from state to state all over the USA, sharing God's mercy and grace that only He can give. You see, if it were not for second chances and God's patience with me, I would have gone straight to hell that cold October night. Thank you King Jesus for giving me another chance to live and another chance to share the gift you gave me...my voice to share with all who have the willingness to listen. I had the honor to sing Tenor with a few great Southern Gospel Groups such as; The world famous Stamps Quartet, Palmetto State Quartet, and Brothers Forever Trio. I will always love that sound, but I need to focus on a more progressive/contemporary southern gospel genre. I can sing all styles of music, but God wants me to be able to reach a broader audience to effectively reach the young lost souls with my testimony, using my voice to break through to their hearts. Now that I sing Tenor with Steve Hess & Southern Salvation, I have that freedom and some. We stay true to Southern Gospel, as well as pushing the envelope with a more progressive sound as well. Because of this mix, we open more door of opportunities with all types of church audiences...thank you Jesus for this! ;-) Thank you Steve, for allowing that freedom, and for your unmatched friendship that means the world to me. :-)
Being a Christian for me, means having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ...not just some religious belief system. I believe all churches need to have a sign that says "All sinners welcome here." and need to preach from God's Word, not just some ideas they might have. Sometimes, the truth hurts, but that Truth...God's Word shall set you free. Sometimes the "religious Christian" is the quickest to point fingers to hide the truth that they are just as guilty. 1John 1:8 says; "If we say,"We have no sin," we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us." so people need to quit Judging others. God knows my heart and He certainly knows yours...Amen!
Thanks for reading and listening to just some of my many blessings, trials and victories I have overcame through my walk with Christ Jesus. Believe me, when your trying to live for Christ, and Christ alone, it does not get any easier. It just becomes more challenging to live Christ like. Satan knows your battles and will do everything he can to stand between you and the final prize...eternal life in Heaven! I've had my fair share of battle wounds, and I'm sure its not over with yet, but I know I have a friend in Jesus that can and will continue to move mountains on my behalf. Through Christ I am a Victor! Satan has already lost the battle and misery loves company...my company is Christ Jesus INC. and on His foundation I shall build my house.
Please pray, in Jesus Name, that God open some huge doors for Southern Salvation Trio, to make everything possible, to glorify His Kingdom. I'm just the instrument of Praise...Thank you so much everyone...God bless and keep you, for everything you do to grow the love of Christ Jesus...Amen!!!
