John Guidroz John Guidroz Lake Charles Louisiana native John Guidroz is a singer/songwriter that blends elements of folk, pop, rock and other genres to create a sound that is truly his own. John began playing solo acoustic shows in 2004. Over several years, he built a reputation as a solid live performer, willing to play songs from a variety of artists and genres. However, audiences would have to wait for any glimpse of original material. That all changed in 2012 when John released his first solo album, Yesterday’s News. Produced by Matthew Moss and mixed by Michael James, the eight songs showcase John’s powerful vocal range, a keen sense of melody and clever lyrics. The songs are reminiscent of artists like Pete Yorn, David Gray and John Mayer. John recently released his second full-length album, Misfit Me. Written and recorded over the span of a year, the 10 songs tackle subjects like the pressures of fame, love and escape. Moss returned to produce and mix the album, and mastering was done by legendary engineer David Donnelly. John continues to perform regularly at live venues and has built up more than a decade of experience along the way. Whether performing solo or with a full band, audiences are sure to be entertained by his blend of humor, storytelling and well-crafted songs.
