John Danenbarger John Danenbarger Castiglione del Lago John has lived in Europe more than the USA. Now he writes literary crime fiction. He spends much of his creative time in Italy with his wife and three cats. Despite a degree in English and Creative Writing from Kansas University and establishing the Salem, Massachusetts, writers’ club, his first novel is being published on August 6th. Previously, he has written and published several short stories (most recently Julia Engelhardt) and hundreds of blog posts. Born in Atlanta, he grew up in Kansas, graduated from University of Kansas, lived and worked fifteen years in Oslo, Norway and five years in Stockholm, Sweden. He then worked thirteen years in Salem, MA, followed by, having achieved a merchant marine captain’s license, sailing his sailing yacht for two years on the New England coast including two round-trips to Bermuda.
