A Miami native, Joe Usher began his career as the resident DJ at legendary Design District club Power Studios in 1998. He honed his talents working in some of Miami's best underground clubs and parties, laying a solid foundation for a move to New York City in 2000.
While working in A&R at Astralwerks Records he continued DJ'ing some of the best clubs in Manhattan including residencies at Mr. Black, The Maritime, The Gansevoort, Grotto, Therapy, Wonder Bar, Clubhouse and Orchard Bar. Known for his signature and eclectic blend of House, Disco, Soul and Indie, he has rocked dance floors all across the world- from Brazil, Costa Rica and the Bahamas to headlining gigs in Atlanta, San Francisco, Orlando, Chicago and DC.
Taking his talents out of the DJ booth and onto the runway, Joe has produced Fashion Week soundtracks for such top designers as Marc Jacobs, Custo Barcelona, Brian Reyes, Ana Lerario Beatriz, Ruffian, Sari Gueron, Peter Sorenon and Oumlil. He has DJ'ed major events for Warner Bros, Sony Pictures, Fox, Revlon, MoMA, Aveda, Sothebys, Lincoln Center, Nike and many more.
Career highlights include DJ'ing the opening night launch and afterparty of the Keith Haring exhibit "Selected Works" in Sao Paulo, Brazil as well curating the music for Madonna's Unicef charity benefit held at the United Nations in 2009.
Currently, he curates playlists for some of the top luxury brands in the world including Equinox, Tom Ford, Michael Kors and The Four Seasons hotel group worldwide.
