Jodie Nicholson Music Jodie Nicholson Darlington Debut album ‘Golden Hour’ OUT NOW 🌞 https://spoti.fi/2MKEYUy Jodie is a 23-year-old singer/songwriter from Hurworth, on the outskirts of Darlington. Having played live since the age of 15, Jodie is known best for pairing her melodic, angel-like vocals with soft piano or acoustic guitar. She often uses open tunings and layered harmonies to create a mellow, warm backdrop to her sound, influenced by the likes of Laura Marling, Daughter and Lucy Rose. Taking inspiration from personal experiences and relationships, her song writing is directed by feeling in the music. Her ethereal, alternative sound has an overarching theme of melancholy and longing, and remains present in every song. From the age of 18, Jodie has provided vocals for the rock opera, Tyneside Rain, which has gained consistent airplay over the past 4 years on BBC Tees's Introducing Show and 'A Gun and a Girl' became a Fresh Fave on Tom Robinson's Fresh on the Net. Jodie has been fortunate enough to play her original material live in session for BBC Tees' Introducing Show with Bob Fischer in 2015, 2017 and 2019. Following her appearances, her song 'Crossroads' in 2017 and debut single 'In Spring' in 2019 became Track of the Week on BBC Tees. Jodie's music has also been featured on other local radio shows, such as Transmission on Zetland FM and Bishop FM's The Indie Show. Her home-spun, debut album 'Golden Hour was released 27th September 2019 and is available both digitally and physically.
