IMPERATIVE! (2015) for Baritone Saxophone solo. Elena Leonova by Joan Martí-Frasquier

Here's a home recording of an original work for baritone saxophone that Ukrainian composer Elena Leonova sent me some time ago. Leonova has composed many symphonic, chamber and experimental contemporary jazz projects.
As Leonova said: "This piece was written for a high level of performance. The piece contains a lot of space for improvisation, it uses modern performance techniques that give freedom to the performer. The work is recitative; the instrument's sound changes depending on the register and the way the sound is produced."
