Jordan McLean's Airstream Baby Hey you! Thanks for your ears... This is my first year master's 'recital' as I pursue my degree in Studio Composition at SUNY Purchase. I hope you can listen in a comfy place with a good pair of headphones, preferably with a little something to nip on, in whatever form you please. Airstream Baby (from the photo of my dear sister-in-law Natalie as a small child) is the first foray into what I am calling Electro Western... What started as a 'tempo map' of dance tempos from 118 to 150 bpm created with drum machines and the organ plug in Helm, turned into what i started thinking of as ELM (electronic listening music). Lyrics were derived from writings of my wife Jessica's childhood memories of growing up in Truckee CA, in the mountains around Lake Tahoe. This would have been a much different presentation without her amazing way of sharing her life experiences. Thanks Adam, Krissy and Zack up at Purchase for being so super generous with time and insights and to Dave, Jon and Josh for having me by the studio.
