About Joshua Grierson:
The sweat rolls down his brow
His entire body aches and weaves with some internal, now exposed dance
His fingers are rattling on his fret board like scattered bones on the sand
And the feet connected to his rubber legs, are stomping a new hole in the stage
Joshua Grierson is a passionate 30 year old Folk-Rock singer, songwriter and musician.
Over the last 11 years, Grierson has built the reputation of being one of the hardest working artists South Africa has bred, and through his sheer bull-headed determination, has found himself supporting award winning acts like Finley Quaye, Yoav, Dan Patlansky, Laurie Levine, Josie Field, John Ellis, KONGOS, Tony Cox, Gary Thomas, Plush and Taxi Violence.
In 2012, the South African music channel MK (R.I.P.) featured him on one of their Studio 1 specials; in 2013 was featured on ETV's Breakfast show and over the past 7 years, has been featured in Rolling Stone (SA), Full Circle magazine, various community and daily newspapers, and a slew of online press.
As recently as January 2014, Grierson shared the stage with Arno Carstens, Michael Lowman, Albert Frost, Inge Beckmann (with whom he collaborated), Tony Cox, Beatenberg, Gerald Clark and many other greats, at the last Cape Town Folk 'n Acoustic Festival held at Kirstenbosch Gardens. The response was wonderfully and positively overwhelming.
Grierson is currently sitting 2nd on the local and 3rd on the national Reverbnation Folk charts - http://www.reverbnation.com/rpk/653767
