Far be it for me to belatedly defend any aspect of these films, but, you know, I don't think it's so terrible a plan as that, on reflection; if Wesker hadn't picked the right craft, these babies apparently have auto-pilot so you just send the bomb off anyway. It's more gambling for a big win with a small risk of not getting the plane far enough away on autopilot as the "lose".

1. The shotgun quarter shells are only inconvenient if you think she only makes four, fire them and then stops mid-combat to make more. The real issue is that I don't think there's a shell large enought to hold quarters.

You're looking at a sub-trope of the "writer cop-out"or "reset button". The closest I can come is what's called an "Aborted Arc", where an arc/plot is simply dropped from existence. If you can come up with a name, it would actually be a good trope to add to tvtropes.

I was wondering why my memory is so hazy when it comes to this movie. Around this part I realized that wayyy back when I watched it with a friend, I was piss drunk! Not that its a memorable movie anyways. Dropping out of college, getting drunk and watching terrible movies. Good times.
