They're Leaving Me Behind by Jim Hanks published on 2013/02/16 04:31:21 +0000 This is a cover of Nick Drake's tune from the 'Family Tree' album. Special thanks to Chris Healey for his transcription (http://www.chrish.ndo.co.uk/leaving.htm) that helped me work out the basic chord structure. I didn't really stray very far from it, although the arrangement and instrumentation is, of course, very different. I'm calling this a 'work in progress' as I plan to rework it significantly as an "all EWI" piece. This is all NanoStudio. There are three EWI tracks, all using the Eden synth: the two lead lines and a bass part that shows up as a drone in the intro and some stabs in the middle. This is a fairly straightforward production: drums and percussion (mostly from the Synthetik Drums pack from app-sound.com), pedal bass, 3 chordal pads (mostly stemming from the Synth Garden pack from app-sound.com), 1 arp pad, and the EWI tracks. One interesting bit about the arpeggiated track. I tried to find an arp I was happy with amongst my iPad apps (Addictive, Sunrizer, NLog) and Reason, but in the end, I gave up and sequenced it myself in NanoStudio.
