Lyrics: It was a holy night, (Luke 2) But not a silent night Shepherds were terrified When an angel blazed with light But said: "Do not be afraid I bring you news of joy. The Savior's born in Bethlehem, a baby boy. You will find Him lying in a feeding trough. A sign to you: He'll be wrapped up in swaddling cloth. But before they could go, They were in for a show. It was a heavenly throng That split the night with their song. They sang: Hallelujah, Glory to God on high. Hallelujah, Let our voices fill the sky. Hallelujah, Peace on earth good will to men. Hallelujah, All our praise belongs to Him. And so they went to the Child Who looked so meek and mild. But from His face shown the beams Of the grace that redeems. The mother Mary could but sit and ponder. The shepherds stood amazed in quiet wonder At The One foretold from long before To save the world from sin, all things restore. (Acts 3:21) When they went from the stable, They were wholly unable To keep the story inside. They spread the news far and wide They sang: Hallelujah, Glory to God on high. Hallelujah, Let our voices fill the sky. Hallelujah, Peace on earth good will to men. Hallelujah, All our praise belongs to Him. All our praise belongs to Him! All our praise belongs to Him!
