jfi jfi aka zhang jianfu Beijing jfi(Zhang Jianfu), an artist, experimenter of design,member of music group “Silents”,the founder of the label “18W Records”. His lo-fi band “Metallurgy” was formed in July, 2001. He performed at the “MOWOOD” Experimental Art Festival in June 2005 and released his first album “Tai Hao Tower” in July the same year, which mixed Atmosphere-Intustry element. “18W records” produced the sound experimental work “Cities hallucinations impression”in conjuncion a Canadian record label “Non-art noise”in november,2006. Then it has transformed its music manner into mainly Minimal. The production of the album “Mr. Austism” was completed in January 2009, which carried on the thought on mixing different genres. “emphasize the more electrical part of electronic musi”,that’s he wants to express. 18W Records, established in June 2005, is a record label which produces, studies, explores and develops experimental electronic sounds in accordance with its possible forms in the domain of electronic music scene. Its first album “Bose Reflection” was released in 2005 and presented the label’s unique and distinctive experimental qualities. It announced production of “Cities hallucinations impression” in partnership with the Canadian label Non-art Noise Records in November 2006. Echokey launched his first album “Space Noize” in 2006. The direction of 18W Records’spread has been gradually converting from sounds arts towards experimental electronic ,with that ,“Bird Park” (by jfi) and “White Form”with low sonic was released . In 2008, due to the changes of the artists, jfi and Canticle founded the subsidiary label of 18W Records, “Underwater”, which tends to stress experimental music and sounds productions. In early 2009, album “V.A.
