Las Vegas, NV, July 25, 2012 -- The Pure House Music Festival Weekend makes its Las Vegas debut on Saturday, September 29 at the Clark County Government Center from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. This musical extravaganza, sponsored by VegasLOL.com, Fusicology, Cherie Martin & Associates and Electronic Music Cafe, will showcase “House Music” legends, pioneers, innovators and today’s headliners carrying on the tradition of this pure, uncut, deep, funky musical phenomenon.
The Performers for the Festival include House Music Icons: Headlining the event is CeCe Peniston, D-Train; Lisa Shaw, Jesse Saunders, Michelle Weeks, Groove Junkies’ Evan Landis featuring Solara, Michael Procter, Kevin Hedge (from Blaze), Lidell Townsell, Chosen Few DJs… along with West Coast Favorites David Harness (San Francisco), Scott K. (Los Angeles) and Rory McAlister… and International flavor from Sound Syndicate (Mallorca, Spain) and DJ Sam (Seoul, Korea). In addition, local favorites performing include Keith Evan (House Society) and Jeremy Espinosa. The Festival will also feature Dancers, Percussionists and Chicago House Music Dancer Icon, David Risque’.
This inaugural Las Vegas event will be produced in the style of The Chosen Few’s long-standing “House Music Picnic,” which has been held in Chicago, IL for the past 21 years and boasts over 30,000 attendees annually. Like the Chicago event, the Festival is scheduled to be held annually and is expected to garner national and international publicity and attract a diverse audience. The first Pure House Music Award will be given out in a special ceremonial presentation during the event.
The 2012 Pure House Music Festival emphasizes LIVE performances along with DJs, showcasing House Music legends as well as mainstays with various food and merchandise vendors.
Jesse Saunders, world-renowned DJ/Producer and “Architect” of the musical genre known as “House Music,” and a founding member of The Chosen Few, established the Pure House Music Coalition, along with Rory McAlister, a DJ/Promoter and legendary Las Vegas musical icon and a native of Chicago, who owns and operates Records Systems for 27 years and has helped to make the Las Vegas club and radio market what it is today.
The combined success of The Chosen Few (nationwide), McAlister (Southwest Region) and Saunders (worldwide) will make this event a sellout and a top of the line production.
The Pure House Music Weekend is supported by the Music & Arts Society, an educational non-profit which provides a 21st century perspective of DJ culture and Art in the Clark County School System; the local arts, philanthropic and political communities of Las Vegas; and the State of Nevada. Other participating non-profits include the Urban League, After School All Stars and the Big Brothers, Big Sisters. A portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to these entities and other music & arts education groups.
