Birdcry (with Chris Calvert) by Jecht Rye published on 2011/08/07 00:06:08 +0000 This was written entirely with Chris (he's singing, and again the production was split between us), from scratch, in the space of about 12 hours today. It will feature on the album-length project we intend to release together. Lyrics: She sings a broken song; A melody so often heard. Her attempts to take the sky Always seem to end in hurt. And as she lies down on the ground, Where it's easier to stay, She somehow stands despite the pain And tries to fly again. Just 'cause it's easier to stay down Doesn't mean she shouldn't fly (x4). And now it's time she flew. They told her she should settle down. She lifts herself into the air And leaves them left back on the ground. The skies were always her's And though her wings were scarred and broken She knew that if she flew She could leave into the open. Just 'cause it's easier to stay down Doesn't mean she shouldn't fly (x4).
