L’artiste, influencé par la soul funk américaine, et les rythmes traditionnels caribéens de ses origines, délivre un univers riche, un monde mystique mystérieux empreint de nostalgie assumée et d’espoir déterminé… Le créole donne au texte toute l’amplitude de l’expression par les formes imagées, poétiques et métaphoriques… Toujours vives, parfois drôles, un rien taquines… Sa voix hors norme, tel un gwol s’échappant du souffle d’un saxophone, porte dans son grain grave toute son histoire… Mais elle offre surtout un formidable écrin pour sa musique engagée, ses mélodies et mélopées.
